Sumenep – Eastern Tip of Madura and Royal Palace
Sumenep Regency lies on the eastern tip of Madura Island, in East Java province, but également includes several small îles. Its capital is Sumenep city. The region is the most cultured part of Madura: Keraton Sumenep (royal palais) is Madura’s finest architectural creation, a blend of European, Chinese and Javanese styles. Nearby small îles (Gili Labak, Gili Genting) have préservé récifs coralliens.
