Nganjuk – Sedudo Waterfall and East Java’s Onion Capital
Nganjuk se trouve dans la partie ouest de East Java province, on the northern slopes of Mount Wilis. Its capital is Nganjuk city. The region is one of Indonesia’s largest onion-growing areas – connu sous le nom de “la ville of onions.”
Attractions et activités
Sedudo Waterfall (105 m) on the slopes of Mount Wilis is a magnifique beauté naturelle – site of the traditionnel “siraman” ceremony. Candi Lor and Candi Ngetos are Javanese Hindu-Buddhist temple ruins. Mount Wilis (2,563 m) is suitable for randonnée. Local onion fields provide seasonally pittoresque views.

Javanese culture is defining: wayang and gamelan tradition. Cuisine is East Javanese: nasi pecel, sate ayam, rujak cingur.
