Jember – The Jember Fashion Carnaval and East Java's Tobacco Country

The Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC, usually in August) is a mondialement célèbre street fashion parade – extravagant costumes and thousands of participants. Papuma Beach (Pantai Papuma) is one of East Java's most magnifique plages: white sand, rocky coves and turquoise water. Tancak Kembar Waterfall is a twin cascade amid jungle. Tobacco and café plantations (arabica) in the highlands peut être visité. Rembangan viewpoint offre panoramas across the entire region.
Culture et cuisine
A blend of Madurese and Javanese culture characterises Jember – communities depuis Madura île have strong influence. Kerapan sapi (bull racing – a Madurese tradition) is found here too. Cuisine is East Javanese: nasi pecel (rice with peanut sauce), soto lamongan (chicken soup), tape (fermented cassava sweet), and suwar-suwir (cassava sweet) are local favourites.
