    About Tajurhalang

Tajurhalang – Suburban kecamatan in Bogor Regency, West Java

Tajurhalang is a kecamatan in Bogor Regency, West Java province, in the suburban belt south of Greater Jakarta. According to the Indonesian Wikipedia entry, the kecamatan covers about 30.78 square kilometres at an elevation of around 162 metres, contains seven desa and had a population of about 131,980 inhabitants in 2024. It was carved out of Bojonggede kecamatan in 2006 and historically formed part of the older Depok kecamatan before 1981. Local residents have at times campaigned for Tajurhalang and Bojonggede to be transferred from Bogor Regency to the city of Depok.

    Tourism and attractions

Tajurhalang itself is not a marquee tourism destination, but its position in suburban Bogor places it within easy reach of major regional attractions. Bogor Regency, of which Tajurhalang is part, is widely known for the Bogor Botanical Gardens and Bogor Palace in the city centre, the Puncak highland resort area, Mount Salak and Mount Halimun-Salak National Park, the Cibodas botanical gardens and Mount Gede Pangrango. The neighbouring city of Depok adds Universitas Indonesia and the Setu Babakan Betawi cultural village. Travellers based in Greater Jakarta often pass through Tajurhalang on the way to Bogor city or use it as a commuter base.

    Property market

Property in Tajurhalang reflects its role as part of the southern Greater Jakarta commuter belt. Housing stocks are dominated by mid-range and rumah subsidi housing-estate developments, rows of shophouses, kost rooming-houses and older single-storey landed houses, with smaller numbers of low- and mid-rise apartment projects within easy reach via Depok. Most transactions involve plots with SHM or HGB certification issued by BPN. Land use combines fast-growing residential neighbourhoods with remaining rice fields, smallholder gardens and the Bojonggede commuter-rail corridor. Verification of title status, drainage, and access road conditions is important before any acquisition.

    Rental and investment outlook

Rental demand in Tajurhalang is shaped by Greater Jakarta commuter flows, with civil servants, office workers, teachers and university students forming the core tenant base, plus factory workers from industrial areas in Bogor and Depok. The wider Bogor Regency economy combines commuter-belt residential development, manufacturing, services, education and tourism in the highland south. Tajurhalang's combination of relatively affordable housing and commuter-rail access via Bojonggede station supports steady demand for both kost rooms and landed-house rentals. Investors should size expectations to a southern Greater Jakarta commuter submarket.

    Practical tips

Tajurhalang is reached by road from Depok and Bogor along the Sawangan and Parung corridors, with the KRL commuter-rail line at Bojonggede station nearby and the Jagorawi and Antasari tolled corridors within reach. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang is roughly an hour and a half away in normal traffic. Basic services such as puskesmas primary healthcare clinics, schools and markets are organised at desa level, with larger hospitals, banks and government offices in Bogor and Depok. The climate is tropical with cooler temperatures than central Jakarta and a marked wet season. Foreign investors should note that Indonesian regulations restrict freehold land title to Indonesian citizens.
