Pagar Alam is an independent city in the western highlands of South Sumatra province, at the foot of Mount Dempo (3,173 m). The city is connu pour its cool climate, thé plantations and Pasemah megalithic statues.

Mount Dempo (3,173 m) is South Sumatra’s highest volcan – suitable for randonnée, panoramic views. Pasemah megalithic statues (3,000+ years old) are unique stone sculptures: warrior figures, elephants, warriors on elephants. Teh Gunung Dempo thé plantations in pittoresque landscapes. Waterfalls (Air Terjun Lematang Indah) are natural beauties.
