Minahasa (Christian) culture is defining: traditionnel waruga tombs, Woloan bamboo houses in the Minahasa highlands. Cuisine is famously spicy: tinutuan (Manado vegetable soup), cakalang fufu (smoked tuna), ayam rica-rica (chilli chicken), paniki (bat meat – local speciality).
