Kepulauan Sangihe – Volcano Island and Clove Plantations on the Edge of the Philippine Sea
Kepulauan Sangihe (Sangihe Islands) se trouve dans the northernmost part of North Sulawesi province, in the middle of the Philippine Sea entre the Philippines and Sulawesi. La capitale régionale est Tahuna. The Sangihe Islands are connu pour the active Mount Awu volcan (1,320 m), clove and nutmeg plantations, and Sangir culture.
Attractions et activités
Mount Awu (Gunung Awu, 1,320 m) is one of Indonesia's most dangerous active volcanes – the crater view is à couper le souffle (depending on safety status). Tahuna Naha Airport receives flights depuis Manado (approx. 1.5 hours). By boat depuis Manado, approximately 12–14 hours. The best time to visit is April to October. Accommodation: simple guesthouses in Tahuna.
