Muaro Jambi – Southeast Asia’s Largest Buddhist Temple Complex
Muaro Jambi se trouve dans the central-eastern part of Jambi province, le long de the Batang Hari River. Its capital is Sengeti. The region is home to the Muaro Jambi Temple Complex – one of Southeast Asia’s largest Buddhist archaeological sites.

Muaro Jambi Temple Complex (UNESCO tentative list) is l'un des plus important sites of the 7th–14th siècle Melayu (Srivijaya) empire: Candi Tinggi, Candi Gumpung, Candi Kedaton and further brick temples on the Batang Hari riverbank, covering approximately 12 km². The Batang Hari River is suitable for boat tours. Surrounding rizières and fish ponds offer rural experiences.
