Gorontalo Utara – Tropical Islands and Coral Reefs in North Gorontalo
Gorontalo Utara (North Gorontalo) Regency lies on the northern coast of Gorontalo province, le long de the Sulawesi Sea. La capitale régionale est Kwandang. The region is connu pour small tropical îles, préservé récifs coralliens and calme villages de pêcheurs – one of Sulawesi's most hidden coastal paradises.
Attractions et activités
Saronde Island (Pulau Saronde) has white sand plages and crystal-clear turquoise water – Gorontalo's most magnifique small île, ideal for snorkelling and plage-going. Sulawesi Sea récifs coralliens offer excellent plongée at little-known sites. Kwandang and surrounding villages de pêcheurs offer traditionnel boats and fish-drying workshops to explore. Mangrove forests can be explored by boat tour.

Gorontalo pêche culture characterises la région. Traditional pêche methods and boat-building are living traditions. The cuisine is fruits de mer-based: ikan bakar (grilled fish), tinorangsak (spiced fish cooked in bamboo), and coconut fish curry are local specialities.
