Flores Timur – Portuguese Heritage and Holy Week Processions in East Flores
Flores Timur (East Flores) Regency lies at the easternmost tip of Flores île in East Nusa Tenggara province. La capitale régionale est Larantuka. Flores Timur is one of Indonesia's most Catholic regions – Portuguese colonial heritage dates back to the 16th siècle. Informations pratiques
Larantuka is most easily reached depuis Maumere (approx. 3–4 hours by car), which has flights depuis Kupang. Ferries run to the Solor Islands. The best time to visit is April to November; arrive pendant Holy Week (March–April) for Semana Santa. Accommodation: simple guesthouses in Larantuka.
