    OKU Selatan – Danau Ranau Volcanic Lake and Mount Seminung

    Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan (OKU Selatan) Regency lies in the southernmost highland part of South Sumatra province, at the foot of the Bukit Barisan mountain range. Its capital is Muaradua. The region is known for Danau Ranau volcanic crater lake and Mount Seminung.

    Attractions and Activities

    Danau Ranau is Sumatra’s second-largest volcanic crater lake: crystal-clear water, stunning highland backdrop. Mount Seminung (1,881 m) is suitable for hiking – rises above the lake. Hot springs (air panas) are natural thermal baths. Coffee plantations and spice gardens can be visited.

    Komering and Ranau peoples’ culture is defining. Cuisine is South Sumatran: pempek, pindang, gulai.
