Muara Enim – Coal Mines and Colonial Railway Heritage
Muara Enim Regency lies in the western-highland part of South Sumatra province, on the slopes of the Bukit Barisan mountain range. Its capital is Muara Enim city. The region is the historical centre of South Sumatran coal mining.

The colonial-era railway line (Palembang–Lubuklinggau) passes through the region – scenic journey. Nature walks and fishing along the Enim River. Highland forests and rubber plantations can be visited. Tanjung Enim coal mining heritage historical site.

Malay and Sumatran culture are defining. Cuisine is South Sumatran: pempek (fish cake), tekwan (fish ball soup), pindang ikan.
