    Sekupang – Western urban district of Batam city, Riau Islands

    Sekupang is a kecamatan in the city of Batam, in the Riau Islands (Kepulauan Riau) province on the western side of Batam Island, facing the strait that separates Batam from Singapore. The kecamatan covers around 68 km2 and groups seven kelurahan – Tanjung Riau, Tiban Lama, Tiban Baru, Tiban Indah, Patam Lestari, Sungai Harapan and Tanjung Pinggir – with a population of roughly 141,000 according to Indonesian statistics.
