The pela gandong (brotherhood) tradition between Christian and Muslim communities is unique. Cuisine is Maluku: ikan kuah kuning (yellowish fish curry), papeda (sago porridge), and spiced grilled fish.

When to Visit?

September–November and March–May are generally the best – drier months. Banda Sea diving is best in October–November and April–May. In the rainy season (January–February) expect heavier rain.
