Tebo – Bukit Duabelas National Park and Primeval Forests

Tebo Regency lies in the western part of Jambi province. Its capital is Muara Tebo. The region encompasses part of Bukit Duabelas National Park, which is the habitat of the last nomadic tribes of the Orang Rimba (“forest people”). Traditional communities live along the Tebo and Batang Hari rivers.

About Jambi

1. Muaro Jambi Temple Complex

One of Southeast Asia's largest Buddhist-Hindu archaeological sites. The 7th–13th century temples stretch along the Batang Hari River and are remnants of the ancient Melayu Kingdom. The scale and condition of the ruins are impressive.

2. Kerinci Seblat National Park

Sumatra's largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is home to Sumatran tigers, rhinos, and elephants. Jungle treks here offer genuine wilderness experiences.

3. Mount Kerinci

Sumatra's highest peak (3,805 m) presents a challenge for hikers. The summit view over the surrounding rainforest and Lake Kerinci is unforgettable.

4. Jambi Batik

Jambi batik is famous for its unique motifs that combine local Malay and Buddhist traditions. You can watch the creation process in local workshops.
