Malaka – Along the East Timor Border on the Timor Sea Coast

Malaka Regency lies in the eastern Timor Island part of East Nusa Tenggara province, along the Timor Sea and East Timor border. Its capital is Betun. Split from Belu regency in 2012, the region is an area of border trade and traditional culture.

The Timor Sea coastline features quiet and pristine beaches – Pantai Motaain near the border area. Remnants of sandalwood forests are Timor Island’s characteristic vegetation.
